ABSTRACT

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common type of dementia. It accounts for more than half of the cases of dementia in the elderly population. This disorder is a neurodegenerative disease that causes progressive impairment of cognitive functions. In this context, brain imaging is being assessed as an instrument to supplement the diagnosis and monitor the clinical course of the disease. Here, we would like to highlight some important topics that together with the study of Elfaal could lead to a better comprehension of the imaging role in AD.
