ABSTRACT
A 19‑year‑old male presenting with a persistent localized pain
in his right shoulder was admitted to our hospital. He reported that the
symptom started within 3 months ago when he had a rash with unilateral
distribution of grouped vesicles on an erythematous base that recovered after 2
weeks. He was previously healthy, and his family history was unremarkable and
negative for neurological disorders. He stated that he had an episode of
varicella (chickenpox) when he was a child. On neurological examination,
allodynia and hypersensitivity were observed on his right shoulder.
