ABSTRACT
In 1928, Ernst Melkersson reported a case of a young female presenting with facial edema and facial paralysis. In 1931, Curt Rosenthal observed the presence of folds and furrows in the tongue in patients who presented the previous signs already described by Melkersson. Only in 1949, after the review of the nomenclature of some syndromes that the triad was designated as Melkersson–Rosenthal syndrome (MRS) by Lüscher, a German neurologist. Herein, we would like to discuss more Miescher–Melkersson–Rosenthal syndrome to provide an overview and promote awareness of this uncommon pathology.
