ABSTRACT
The term “neuroinflammation” encompasses the inflammatory processes in the central nervous system involving the innate and adaptive immune systems. Neuroinflammation is primarily driven by microglia and astrocytes. An important neuropathological hallmark of neurological disorders is the interaction between microglia and astroglia, which can trigger an innate immune response, contributing to the disease's progression and severity.
