68. Subdural Hemorrhage

Subdural Hemorrhage (SDH) - NeuroIR

Pathophysiology
- SDH is by bridge veins
- MMA embolization kills meninges, preventing septation and allowing reabsorption

Material
Two types
- avastin (bevacizumab)
- embolization (liquid or embosphere)

Anatomy
- MMA has 2 branches superior and posterior

Technique
- contrast, and see ophthalmic artery
> How much of the eye supply is from the MMA?
- petrous bone part, vascularization of facial nerve
> avoid embolization of this area

Complications
- long-term: cognitive impairment?
