ABSTRACT
A 40-year-old female patient presenting with bilateral
blindness of 1 day of onset was admitted. She was previously a healthy farmer,
and her family history was negative for neurological diseases. Ophthalmoscopy
confirmed bilateral optic neuritis. A cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis showed oligoclonal
immunoglobulin G-bands. A brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed hyperintense lesions in the
periventricular region and corpus callosum, and a brain MRI done 1 year before
was normal. Diagnosis of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis was made. About
5 years after the initial presentation, the subject complained of urinary
incontinence within six months of onset. She also reported associated symptoms
of hesitancy, incomplete voiding, increased frequency, and interrupted stream.
A cystography showed Christmas tree bladder (CTB) and important post-void residual.
